Fractional CTO for small business

The CTO your business can't hire full-time.

I modernize your operation in stages — without pausing your business, and without throwing away what already works.

The problem

You've been told the answer is "replace everything."

Your company already works. It sells, it invoices, it grows. But more and more of it depends on systems nobody on the team fully understands: the website, payments, inventory, email, integrations.

I've seen how "replace everything" projects end: expensive, endless, and with the business stalled halfway through. A good part of my last 15 years has been rescuing companies after one of those.

There's another way.

The method

Incremental transformation

First, break nothing.

Before touching anything, I learn how you work today and what already works. Non-negotiable.

Stages you can afford and verify.

Every phase has a scope, a cost, and a measurable result. You see the value before committing to the next step.

Manual first, automated second.

I automate a process once we've validated the rules — not before. That way automation removes errors instead of multiplying them.

The conviction

Communities beat lone geniuses.

In 2008 I killed my own CMS to adopt WordPress, because a worldwide community will always beat a small team of developers — however good. Ever since, I build on proven ecosystems (WordPress, WooCommerce, Cloudflare) instead of reinventing them, and I'm part of WordPress Rosario, my local WordPress community.

Over-engineering is my trade's most expensive vice: brilliant solutions only their author understands. I do the opposite — boring, maintainable technology that any professional can pick up after me. Your business doesn't need a technical monument; it needs systems that keep working when I'm not around.

I've made three early platform bets that aged well: WordPress in 2008, Cloudflare in 2017, AI in 2025. Knowing what to adopt — and what to skip — is precisely the judgment you hire a CTO for.

Did something break today?

When your site goes down, you call me. When you want it to stop going down, you call me too. I solve today's emergency — and design the technology that prevents tomorrow's.

Product · OrbitalDash

I automated the part of my job you shouldn't pay me by the hour for.

It's called OrbitalDash: domain monitoring, digital health scores, and reports in language your team understands. Cloudflare configured automatically, alerts before the client calls, and a monthly report under your own brand.

I built it after 15 years of answering the 2 a.m. email. My fractional CTO clients get it included — it also works on its own.

Shall we start with stage one?

Tell me where your business stands. I'll tell you honestly what I'd change first — and what I wouldn't touch.
